Aloha - June to July 2010 I will be journeying to Bremen, Germany for one week and then to Istanbul, Turkey for two weeks. I will be visiting close friends whom I knew in Hawai'i and then to Istanbul with friends. I wonder at the 'carbon cost' of all the flights and if in the end if there is a difference in if one chooses not to travel in that cost. But as it always does the world beckons and while I will not be working there I know that I will wish that I was. I detest tourism but I will be one at least for a bit. I'll try to stay away from the blatant tourist traps - my goals have always been to spend time with the people, to learn the culture, customs, food and politics but most of all to do my best to connect and return the welcome I am so often given.
